Do you work in Longview?
Regularly. The shop is in Kilgore, about twenty minutes away, and cabinetry is fitted by the same people who built it.
Kitchen cabinets, built-ins and shop fittings for Longview — made to fit the opening you actually have, and fitted by the same people who built them.
Factory cabinets are made in fixed widths, in three-inch steps. Kitchens in the central Longview neighborhoods were not. The result is the thing everyone recognises once it is pointed out — a filler strip down the side of the run, a corner nobody can reach into, and several inches of wall doing nothing because the next size up would not fit through the plan.
Building to the opening removes all of it. The run goes wall to wall. The corner gets a carousel or a deep drawer instead of a void. The awkward gap beside the chimney breast becomes a cupboard. It costs more than flat-pack and less than most people assume, and it is the difference between a kitchen that fits and one that was made to fit.

A lot of the kitchens we are asked to look at in Longview do not need tearing out. In houses of this age the carcasses are frequently solid timber and perfectly sound, and it is the doors, the drawer runners, the handles and the finish that have had their day. New doors and drawer fronts, new hardware, and the whole run refinished gets you a different kitchen for a fraction of a rebuild.
We will tell you which of the two your kitchen actually needs after looking at it in person, and we will say so plainly when the honest answer is the cheaper one.

Office built-ins with a desk run and cupboards over — increasingly the first job in a house where somebody now works from home. Mudroom benches with hooks and cubbies. Laundry cabinetry. Window seats with storage underneath. Bookcases fitted into an alcove so they read as original to the house. Garage and workshop storage. Bar units and corner cabinets, including wet ones with a sink cut in.

Downtown Longview is the original hundred acres of the city and an accredited Main Street America program, evaluated annually by the Texas Historical Commission. Buildings that were hardware stores, banks and warehouses now hold a craft brewery, a coffee shop, restaurants, boutiques and a children's museum, and old office buildings have been turned into apartments.
Fitting out a space like that is not a domestic kitchen with a bigger budget. Counters and back bars take real punishment. Display joinery has to suit a period frontage rather than fight it. Walls in a hundred-year-old building are never square and the work has to be scribed in rather than shimmed. We take that work, and we would rather quote it in person than off a plan.

Usually not. Replacing only what needs replacing is normally the better job and much the cheaper one, and we will tell you if that is your situation.
That is the point of having them made. Walls in older houses are rarely square, and that gets built in rather than discovered on fitting day.
Yes — counters, back bars, display units and back-of-house storage, in buildings where nothing is plumb.
The shop is in Kilgore and we travel from here — as far as Lufkin when the job is worth the drive.
A phone picture is plenty. We will tell you what it needs, what it will cost and roughly how long it will take — before you commit to anything.
