Do you collect from White Oak?
Yes. It is about twenty minutes from the Kilgore shop and we collect and return.
Repair and refinishing for White Oak — for inherited pieces that came from an older house, and for the everyday furniture a family with children actually wears out.
White Oak grew up around a school founded in 1887, expanded through the oil boom of the 1930s, and only incorporated in 1960. Most of the housing here went up after the war, and a good deal of it well after — this is not a town of Victorian joinery and hundred-year-old built-ins.
What is here in quantity is furniture that came from somewhere else. A chest from a grandmother's house in Henderson. A dining set inherited when a parent's home in Longview was sold. Those pieces are frequently older and better made than the house they now sit in, and they are the ones people call about.

White Oak has one of the higher rates of family households in the county and a school district that defines the town. Furniture in a house like that takes a different kind of punishment from furniture in a quiet one — chairs get leaned back on until a joint gives, drawers get overloaded, table tops collect everything from homework to poster paint.
Most of that is straightforwardly fixable and cheaper than people assume. A dining chair that has started to rock does not need replacing; it needs taking apart, cleaning out the old glue and putting back together properly. Done right it will outlast the set it came with.

Loose and broken joints. Chairs that rock or have given way at the back. Drawers that bind, drop or sit crooked. Lifted or blistered veneer. Water rings, heat marks and sun-faded tops. Split boards and cracked legs. Missing moldings and trim cut to match rather than ordered. Bed frames that have worked loose. Full strip-and-refinish work where a piece is genuinely ready for it.
This comes up more in White Oak than anywhere else on our list: an inherited piece is solid and worth keeping, but the dark heavy finish it arrived with does not sit well in a lighter, more modern room. Refinishing or painting it is a legitimate answer there, and we will do it.
The one caution is that it cannot be undone. If a piece is genuinely old and might matter to somebody later, we will say so before starting rather than after — you can always strip it next year, but you cannot put an original finish back.
The shop is in Kilgore, about twenty minutes east of White Oak. We collect and return rather than expecting you to move furniture in the back of a truck. Start with a photo — usually enough to say whether it is a simple fix or a bigger job, and roughly what it runs, before anything is committed to.

Yes. That is a common request here. We will tell you first if the piece looks old enough that refinishing might matter to somebody later — it cannot be undone.
Almost always. Taken apart, cleaned of old glue and reassembled properly, it will usually outlast the rest of the set.
It depends entirely on the piece, so nothing is quoted sight unseen. A photo is usually enough for a real number.
The shop is in Kilgore and we travel from here — as far as Lufkin when the job is worth the drive.
A phone picture is plenty. We will tell you what it needs, what it will cost and roughly how long it will take — before you commit to anything.
