Do I need a whole new kitchen?
Often not. If the carcasses are sound, new fronts and hardware transform it for a fraction of the cost. We will tell you which you have.
Kitchen cabinets, built-ins and storage for Big Sandy — including the cheaper answer, when the cheaper answer is the right one.
A lot of the kitchens we are asked to look at do not need replacing. In older houses the carcasses are frequently solid timber and perfectly sound, and it is the doors, the drawer runners, the handles and the finish that have had their day. New fronts and proper hardware with the run refinished gets you a different kitchen for a fraction of a rebuild.
We will tell you which of the two you have after five minutes standing in the kitchen, and we will say so even when the answer is the cheap one. A shop that only ever quotes the big job is not worth calling twice.

Where the carcass material itself has gone — and once water is into particle board, it has — putting new fronts on a failing box is money thrown away. Then it is worth doing properly: carcasses in plywood rather than particle board, drawer boxes jointed rather than stapled, runners rated for real loads.
Factory cabinets also come in fixed widths in three-inch steps, and older houses here do not oblige. Building to the actual opening removes the filler strips, the unreachable corner and the wasted inches of wall.

Mud rooms with hooks, boot benches and somewhere for wet coats. Pantry runs deep enough to be useful. Utility cabinetry for a freezer and a chest. Workshop and barn storage that holds tools and weight without racking. Feed and tack storage. Gun cabinets.
Less glamorous than a kitchen, and it changes a house more, because it is what stops everything living on the floor.

There is no requirement to do a whole kitchen at once. Plenty of jobs here get done in stages — the failing run this year, the pantry next. Tell us that is the plan and we will build it so the second stage matches the first rather than being an obvious add-on.

Yes, and it is common. Tell us that is the plan and the later stages will match the earlier ones.
Yes, and built to hold weight rather than to look tidy in a catalog.
Yes. It is about thirty minutes from the Kilgore shop.
The shop is in Kilgore and we travel from here — as far as Lufkin when the job is worth the drive.
A phone picture is plenty. We will tell you what it needs, what it will cost and roughly how long it will take — before you commit to anything.
