Stripping and refinishing
Old finish taken back properly rather than painted over, then a new finish built up in coats so the grain still reads.
Furniture Restoration
Bringing tired, damaged and handed-down furniture back to life. Most pieces that come into the shop are not beyond saving. Water rings, lifted veneer, a wobble that got worse every year, a finish gone cloudy — those are ordinary problems with ordinary fixes. What usually matters more is whether the piece is worth the work, and that is an honest conversation we will have with you before anything starts.
Veneer and surface repair
Lifted, bubbled or missing veneer patched with matching stock. Water rings, heat marks and scratches dealt with at the surface where possible.
Structure and joints
Chairs that rock, drawers that stick, legs that have worked loose. Joints are taken apart, cleaned and re-glued rather than filled.
Hardware and drawers
Runners rebuilt, pulls matched or replaced, and drawer boxes squared up so they close the way they did when they were new.
Colour matching
Stain matched to the rest of a set so a repaired piece does not stand out in the room it lives in.
